I Can’t Give You a Tuition Place I Don’t Have
Every year, parents contact Chorlton Tuition Centre after the new school year has begun.
Their child may be struggling with Maths or English. They may have lost confidence, found the move into a new year group difficult or begun preparing for an important examination.
The parent has decided that it is time to arrange tuition.
Unfortunately, the lesson time they need is sometimes already full.
However much I may want to help, I cannot give a family a tuition place that I no longer have.
Tuition Places in Chorlton Are Limited
Chorlton Tuition Centre does not place large numbers of children into crowded lessons.
We provide supportive, small-group tuition, with approximately four or five students working with each teacher. This allows children to receive individual guidance, ask questions and work at an appropriate level.
It also means that the number of tuition places available each week is genuinely limited.
Once a particular lesson is full, we cannot simply add several more children without reducing the quality of tuition for everyone.
The Most Popular Lesson Times Fill First
After-school and early-evening sessions are naturally the most popular with families.
These places can fill particularly quickly at the beginning of the academic year, when parents are arranging support in:
- Maths
- English
- Science
- GCSE preparation
- 11+ preparation
Waiting several weeks before making an enquiry could mean that your preferred day or time is no longer available.
Do Not Wait Until a Small Difficulty Becomes a Bigger Problem
Some parents wait because they hope their child will settle into the new school year without additional help.
Sometimes they do.
However, when a child is already struggling, a small gap can quickly become a larger one. New work often depends upon skills taught previously, so difficulties can build from one topic to the next.
Early tuition can help a child:
- Address gaps before they become established
- Understand new classroom topics
- Strengthen essential Maths and English skills
- Complete homework with less frustration
- Participate more confidently at school
- Develop positive learning habits
It is usually easier to address a small difficulty now than a much bigger one later in the year.
Maths and English Tuition in Chorlton
Chorlton Tuition Centre has supported local children and families since 2006.
We provide small-group tuition for children aged 5–16 from Chorlton, Stretford, Whalley Range, Withington and the surrounding areas.
Every new student begins with a relaxed assessment in Maths and/or English. This allows us to understand their current ability, identify gaps and recommend the most appropriate support.
The assessment also gives parents an opportunity to discuss their concerns and learn more about how our tuition works.
Booking an Assessment Does Not Guarantee Every Lesson Time
We will always do our best to find a suitable place for your child.
However, arranging an assessment does not create additional spaces in lessons that are already full. The earlier you contact us, the more choice you are likely to have.
If you are considering tuition, do not wait until your child is struggling badly or until the only suitable lesson has been taken.
