As an adult, you’re probably a very organised person.
You might have to be organised for your job.
You certainly have to be if you have a family.
And if you have a family, why not teach your child to be organised too?
If they’re young, then start with the basics.
Get them to tidy up their room – to put things away, keep their belongings in order, and learn the value of routines.
If they’re in Year 10 or 11, they should be able to organise their time for their exams.
It’s never too late to start. Even simple habits can make a big difference in helping them succeed.
A simple revision timetable on the wall is a great start.
Get them to colour code subjects, break large topics into manageable chunks, and plan ahead.
Deciding how many hours to dedicate to each subject would be great – and writing it down makes it easier to stick to.
If your child is taking 9 GCSEs, they won’t be able to revise all 9 in one evening.
Spreading revision over weeks or months avoids stress and boosts confidence.
It also gives them time to rest and recharge – which is just as important.
Another way to help is by setting goals together.
Ask them what they want to achieve and help them break that goal into steps.
Organisation isn’t just about school – it’s a life skill that builds independence and responsibility.
At Chorlton Tuition Centre, we support students with structured study plans and tailored advice to build good habits.
Whether they need help staying on top of homework or preparing for exams, we’re here to help.
Help them to be organised – and set them up for success.
Make a start as early as you can!
