We’re Not Trying to Fill Every Lesson – Only the Right Places

At Chorlton Tuition Centre, our goal is not simply to fill every available lesson.

Our priority is to offer the right tuition place to the right child.

That means considering each child’s age, ability, confidence, subject requirements and personality before recommending a suitable group. A space on the timetable is only valuable if it provides the support that child genuinely needs.

The Right Group Matters

Effective tuition is about much more than sitting a child at an available desk.

We carefully consider:

  • The subject in which the child needs support
  • Their current level of understanding
  • Their confidence and learning needs
  • The most appropriate teacher
  • The ages and abilities of the other children in the group
  • The lesson times that are realistically available

Our lessons are taught in small groups, with two teachers supporting the children during each 80-minute session. This allows us to give students individual attention while they also benefit from learning alongside others.

However, keeping groups balanced is important. We will not place a child into a lesson simply because there happens to be one chair available.

We Begin With an Assessment

Every new student starts with a relaxed assessment in Maths, English or both.

This helps us identify what the child can already do, where the gaps may be and what support would make the greatest difference. Parents then receive honest feedback and practical recommendations.

If we believe we can help, we will explain the tuition options available. If a suitable place is not currently available, we will say so.

We would rather be honest than offer a lesson that is not the right match.

Quality Comes Before Numbers

Chorlton Tuition Centre has supported local children and families since 2006. During that time, we have built our reputation by focusing on the quality of our teaching, the progress of our students and the confidence they develop.

We are proud to work with families from Chorlton, Whalley Range, Stretford, Withington and the surrounding areas, providing tuition in:

  • Maths
  • English
  • Science
  • 11+ preparation

We support children from ages 5 to 16, but we do not believe that every child should automatically be offered the next space on the timetable.

Sometimes a particular lesson is full. Sometimes the available group is not suitable. Occasionally, it may be better for a child to wait for the right place rather than begin in the wrong one.

Limited Places Are a Practical Reality

As the school year progresses, certain lessons, subjects and age groups fill more quickly than others.

We will never create an overcrowded group simply to accept another student. Our small-group structure is an important part of what makes our tuition effective, and we intend to protect it.

This is why we encourage parents considering tuition to arrange an assessment as early as possible. An assessment does not guarantee an immediate place, but it allows us to understand your child’s needs and look for the most suitable option.

Is There a Right Place for Your Child?

If your child is struggling with Maths or English, preparing for the 11+, falling behind at school or beginning to lose confidence, the first step is to arrange an assessment.

We will listen, assess your child carefully and give you straightforward feedback.

We are not trying to fill every lesson.

We are trying to fill the right places—with children we genuinely believe we can help.
