What happens in the assessment?
It’s one of the first questions parents ask us —
and understandably so.
If your child is coming for an assessment, you want to know:
👉 What will it feel like for them?
👉 What will we find out?
👉 And what happens next?
Let me reassure you…
It’s not a test. It’s a starting point.
A calm, friendly introduction
When your child arrives, we take a few minutes to settle them in.
No pressure. No rush.
For many children, this is their first time in a new learning environment —
so feeling comfortable matters.
A simple check of Maths and English
We’ll work through a short assessment in:
- Maths
- English
This isn’t about catching them out.
It’s about understanding:
- What they already feel confident with
- Where the gaps are
- Where they may need support
Some children fly through parts.
Others pause, think, and try.
That’s all useful.
We look beyond right and wrong
We’re not just ticking answers.
We’re looking at:
- How your child approaches questions
- Their confidence levels
- Whether they rush or hesitate
- How they respond when something feels tricky
Because that tells us just as much as the answers themselves.
Clear feedback for you
After the assessment, we’ll talk you through:
- What we’ve seen
- Where your child is doing well
- Where support would help most
No jargon. No confusion.
Just clear, honest guidance.
A simple plan forward
If tuition is right for your child,
we’ll explain exactly how we can help.
No pressure. No obligation.
Just a clear next step.
For many parents, this is the moment things start to make sense.
You go from:
“I’m not sure what’s wrong…”
to:
“Now I understand what they need.”
